Virtual Reality
1) Current smartphone that has a Gyroscope- Click here to find out how to check your phone * You do not need to have a smartphone with a data plan attached - I recommend you run VR using WiFi as it is very data ($$) intensive if you run using your smartphone data plan if you do not have unlimited data. There are more apps available today for android phones so you may wish to purchase android phones however apple/itunes apps are increasing. The phone must have a gyroscope in order to run VR and most phones within the last year or so have this. There are too many different options of smartphones which work with VR to tell you which to choose. Samsung Galaxy phones get great reviews and that is the one I have used however lots of phones can work. HERE are some examples as well. I would suggest you want a smartphones with at least a 5"screen size to get the best experience however not too big or your phone won't fit into your headset viewer. 2) VR Viewer - New low cost viewers are coming out everyday. The best viewer depends on what kind of smartphone or ipod you have. A good low cost generic is the ViewMaster or DIY Cardboard. For more examples click HERE or HERE 3) Plus - App Store Access & Email address are needed to allow you to download apps from the app store. Many apps are free however there are some which have a cost associated. ** VR apps are quite large so it would be useful to purchase smartphones with at least 16GB or greater. |
